Default Diplomatura=degree??

Hallo

Could anybody pleased to tell me what's the equivalente word in English for "DIPLOMATURA UNIVERSITARIA"? Could it be "DEGREE"?

No, it's DIPLOMA. Degree is translated licenciatura.

Hello! I thought "Degree" was used for any kind of University studies, not only for "licenciaturas". And "Licenciaturas", depending on the field, were called "master", "magister", etc..
And "diploma" is the degree itself. Am I clear?

Así lo entiendo yo:
Diploma: lo recibís cuando te graduás de preparatoria. Se entiende por "diploma" un documento que acredite el haber cursado con éxito el high school. O al margen del sistema de educación pública, los diplomas se emplean también para cursos más desarrollados y acreditados, sobre todo de formación profesional, de una extensión considerable (1 año por ejemplo)

Degree: lo recibís cuando cumplís una carrera en una universidad o "community college":
2 años: Associates Degree
4 años: Bachelors Degree (Licenciatura)
Posgraduado: Maestría y Doctorado

Tal vez alguien más pueda corregirlo o estar de acuerdo. Te aconsejo que esperes otra opinión para estar segura. Good Luck!!

Muchísimas gracias a los tres

Bueno, la cuestión es que en España llamamos diplomatura a las carreras universitarias de tres años y licenciatura a las carreras de cinco años. Por eso, por lo que comentáis podría ser correcto llamarlo degree, un tipo de degree que no llega a high degree. No sé, es dificil.

De nada, Marta!! Creo que en ese caso, "Degree" sería correcto. Esa es mi humilde opinión.
