Hello, all this is a great idea for a forum!
I was hoping y'all could help me translate a little bit of Spanish for me. Just some background (I imagine context probably matters) I picked up a real cool guy named Juan to help me do some basic labor stuff (moving heavy TV and stuff) and we were trying to communicate...wasn't easy! But I was able to find out that he was my Hermano in Christ. He shared some scriptures and wrote stuff down so I could look it up later... Some books from the bible that he mentioned that I'm not sure of: Hechos? San Marcos-->Mark probably and here is some of the stuff he wrote down when we couldn't seem to break the language barrier: Quote:
and also: Quote:
And one last thing...How would I say: Quote:
It would be MUCH appreciated if y'all could help me out here. I actually learned a little bit Spanish from him, (more than I ever seemed to learn from my bilingual friends...oddly enough) and hope to start taking some Spanish college courses soon...but in the meantime I'd love some help!! Hechos: facts
Mark If you have some time, you could help me learn some English and I could teach you some Spanish, call me 281.964... and we could do it in the afternoon. You are my first friend after God. When you want (the classes) just tell me You can't speak Spanish but I can and I can't speak English. We can help each other. You teach me some English and I teach you some Spanish. Christ loves you, find him. He is the only answer. God bless you today, tomorrow and always. John 1:5.8 see you soon, your friend Juan Somos más que amigos, somos hermanos en Cristo Hope I have been of some help

Wow. I was just talking about taking spanish lessons...you can't beat free! lol (though I know it will take a lot of time/exposure)
hmm...I guess facts=proverbs I posted a reply earlier, but it seems to have gone into the internet's black hole or something...hmm...oh well. I'm pretty sure I thanked you like three time in it Seriously, I can't thank you enough Sandra!Hmm....after I told him that line, he said: Quote:
Anyone want to help me out again?...lol Babelfish always seems to have a difficult time spitting out translations that I can understand...hopefully someday I'll be able to translate more accurately than it and won't have to pester y'all anymore. ![]() Oh, and Sandra, in the post that disappeared I said I was so thankful I wished I could buy you some chocolate...or, as we like to say in Spanish...some "chocolate." ![]() Thanks again!, James |

Hmm... he also said:

I think I need to find some bilingual people on AIM or person.com or something...as I already feel like I'm pestering y'all. But if you did want to translate that...I'd still be really grateful![]() |
