    Me gustaría marcar una diferencia entre el significado de ambas palabras, bizarro (Español) y bizzare (Inglés), que en español se confunde un poco su significado.

    Bizarre: Strikingly unconventional and far-fetched in style or appearance; odd

    Bizarro, rra:
    (De it. bizzarro, iracundo).
    1. adj. valiente (‖ esforzado).

    Muy interesante ignaciog. Está cada vez más expandido el uso incorrecto de la palabra bizarro en español, pero es por la influencia de su uso en inglés que a su vez viene del francés. Seguramente en algunos años se termine aceptando ese uso.. qué opinan?

    Muy buena tu aclaracion ignaciog, y muy cierto lo que dice carmenlm. Esta palabra esta muy influenciada por su significado en Ingles. Tambien es muy poco probable que se comience a usar correctamente.

    De todas formas creo que de tanto usar esta palabra con el significado en Inglés, informalmente ya cambió su significado en español. Qué es el significado si no, el que nosotros le damos.

    Bizarre is a legitimate English word, of course.

    Bizarro came into usage in the U.S. via a comic strips ("Bizarro") and ("Bizarro World" Bizarro World - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and is now a word in its own right. It has been in referred to in such television programs such as "Seinfeld".

    Interesting information Vicente. So, it's OK to say in Spanish that something is "Bizarro" referring to the English meaning of Bizarre?

    Hola Ignacio.

    Pues, I do not think I am qualified to say what is OK in Spanish since I am not a native speaker but I would think that bizarro, used as slang, would be understood but, as we always say, context is the key to people understanding what you mean with a certain word.

    You are definitely right, vicente. If I say that something is "bizarro" to my 65 year old father, he would think of that as brave or gallant.
