Lightbulb How would you translate "limpiarse la baba"?

It's informal speech, a conversation, and one keeps going on about her child, so the other one says:

    - Dejame que te limpie un poco la baba.

It's a joke, but I'm not sure if it has the same meaning with "drool".

    I would appreciate your help!

    Thanks!!

    >>-Dejame que te limpie un poco la baba.<<

This sentence refers to the saying caer la baba = to drool over...

Drool here is not used literally but figuratively.

One of the meanings of drool given by the Merriam-Webster dict.: to express sentimentally or effusively.

According to WordReference:he ~s over you se le cae la baba por ti (fam)

I think you need to find a sentence in English that conveys the figurative meaning...keep in mind baba is a noun but drool is a verb.

I agree! "límpiate la baba" would then be "stop droolling (will you?)"
