Default Charades

Hi, people!

Mind you, I'm not playing games, but translating!!! I need to know the name of the game "Charades" in Spanish. In Argentina we call it "Dígalo con mímica", but I guess it must have a different name in other Latin American countries, and even in Spain. The dictionary provides "Charadas", but the description is of a completely different game. What I mean is the game you play in a living room full of friends, two teams, one person "acts" the title of a movie (or TV show or song, etc.), provided by the opposite team, and the rest of the person's team has to guess the title, you know...

Thanks in advance!!!
Laura

Thanks, Mario! Do you know if it's called like that in other places?
Anyone else?

Hi. I've played the game you describe in Spain (Madrid). Everybody calls it "jugar a las películas". Obviously, it is not a suitable name because when it is not a film title what you are supposed to guess, then you have to describe what exactly you are playing at, like: "jugar a las películas, pero con títulos de canciones". However, that's the way it is over here. Hope that is helpful.

oh, yes! it's helpful... I had found the expression, too, now I have the explanation. THANKS! In fact, I haven't played in a while but when we were kids we always guessed movie titles only... I think it's still the way it's done here.
