From my understanding, a dummy password is a generic password used internally by programmers who work on servers.
Based on this definition, the translation would be "clave de acceso genérico" |

A dummy password is a generic password. Not a password for stupid people.
In context: "The..."dummy" password is used for all requests; all users have the same password in the back-end server registry. ok, yes, is correct, was unaware of the technical nature, and it, is precisely what the question relates. (A generic password eliminates password administration)
but, in spanish "dummy", can be used in numerous ways... as a noun, and as a verb ( as verb it is best defined) "dummy", is usually a stupid person who has no common sense and no brain at all. Last edited by ggq21 : 09-30-2009 at 12:10 PM. |

Dummy by itself might mean stupid, but context can change everything. Word combinations can be very tricky. For example, there are dumb waiters which are small freight elevators. Here the word dumb has no relation to stupid either.
