Default security tag

Hi!

Does someone know the correct translation for 'secutiry tag'? The type that they use in shops?

I am trying to say that we need the receipt to go back to the store to get the security tag removed because it was left on by mistake.

Thanks in advance!

no creo que en español ese Security Tag tenga un nombre preciso; me imagino que debe ser algo asi como: dispositivo de seguridad

Creo que se trata de una banda antirrobo.

According to the English-Spanish Dictionary of Granada University in Spain, the translation of the word is banda antirrobo. Still, it sounds funny to me. I don't know if this applies to all Latin America, but I know it as sensores. It's very possible that the root of the word comes from the company that makes the tags, Sensormatic.

Estoy de acuerdo con Michelleba. Prefiero dispositivo o sensor... banda me suena más a gente tocando música, tal como lo dijo penningdcp, o a una banda de goma, cinta o similar sujetando el objeto a su alrededor. Esos sensores/dispositivos de seguridad rara vez son una banda, por lo general son una etiqueta metálica cuadrada en los libros, un broche plástico en la ropa, etc.
