Help
I recently returned from a trip to Ecuador and discovered that the Spanish there was a bit different. Can someone tell me how to say "waiter" and "straw" in Ecuadorian Spanish. Gracias.

Straw seems to be one of those words that has a lot of variations. Moshe is correct, in Ecuador straw is sorbete. But if you´re curisous about other countries, here's a list.
USA = STRAW Perú = cañita, sorbete Chile = bombilla México = pajilla Argentina = pajita / sorbete Venezuela = pitillo España = paja Ecuador = sorbete Cuba = absorbente Uruguay = pajita / sorbete Puerto Rico = sorbeto |

Spain = camarero Chile = garzón Caribbean Islands, Colombia, Central America, Ecuador, Mexico = mesero Venezuela = mesonero Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay = mozo |
