Do you mean accountancy, acounting or countability? If so, I think 'contabilidad' would be OK.

Have a good weekend

Default I think someone invented something here...

Contabilization does not exist in the English language. Furthermore, Contabilización does not exist in the Spanish language. I think you are messing things up a little bit here.

Just like Eulalia said in English you should say Accountancy and the Spanish translation is Contabilidad.

Greetings.

Hi Tim,

It does exist and the proof is in the pudding. Just an example:

"Desde el punto de vista de las estadísticas educativas elaboradas a nivel estatal, la contabilización oficial de alumnos extranjeros sólo tiene lugar desde el curso escolar 1992/1993 ..."
"Los niños marroquíes en la escuela española"
Laura Mijares

I am also looking for a good translation into English.

Yours,

El Siciliano

Just in case no one believes me:

Luego en Google, hay más de 269,000 resultados para este término. Y finalmente, en el banco de términos de la ONU, una referencia obligatoria para cualquier traductor, consta el término con traducción a varias lenguas. Como traduzco del español y del árabe al inglés y viceversa busqué las traducciones correspondientes:

Un abrazo para todos,

Hi Siciliano, psyduck is quite right, if we take the RAE as a norm, the word is not accepted as such. On the other hand, it is obviously used in substitution of "the counting of"...

So, the sentence would be translated , in my opinion, as:

la contabilización oficial de alumnos extranjeros sólo tiene lugar desde el curso escolar 1992/1993 .

The listing/the totaling/the recording of foreign students has only been elaborated since 1992/93

..foreign students have only been recorded/listed since the school-year 1992/93

Tim, for your sentence we would need context first.

saludos
