Hola,

Hoy iba a decir algo a una persona y me he atascado en la frase:

"Ya te digo más cuando nos veamos."

A sí, que he empezado a generar frases parecidas para coger algo de practica, y me gustaria saber si la traducción sería la correcta.

"Ya te digo más cuando nos veamos."
"I have already tell you more when we see us."

"Ya mismo termino de fregar los platos."
"I already finish of washing up the plates."

"¿Ya os habeis ido al bar?"
"Have you already gone to the bar?"

"Ya no es posible apuntarse en la clase de musica"
"It isn't already possible to register in the music class"

"Ya mismo le digo que deje de cantar esa horrible canción"
"I already tell him to leave of singing that horrible song."

"No lo sabía, aunque él si sabía que ella estaba en Londres"
"I didn't know it, though he did yes that she was in London"

"Ya me puedo esperar cualquier cosa de él"
"I can already hope whatever from him."

"De todas formas, ya buscaremos un sitio donde comer."
"At any rate, we will already look for a place where to eat."

In this case I think you don’t have to use “already” you just say:
“I’ll tell you more when we see each other”

"Ya mismo termino de fregar los platos."
"I already finish of washing up the plates."
In this case “Ya mismo” is a phrase. It means “Right now”

"¿Ya os habeis ido al bar?"
"Have you already leave to the bar?"

"Ya no es posible apuntarse en la clase de musica"
"It isn't already possible to register in the music class"
“Ya no” it’s a phrase: “not anymore”
You can say: “It’s is not possible to register in the music class anymore”
If you want to use already you can say: “The class is already closed”

"Ya mismo le digo que deje de cantar esa horrible canción"
"I already tell him to leave of singing that horrible song."
In this case the phrase “ya mismo” means “righ now”.
“I will tell him to stop singing that horrible song righ now”

"No lo sabía, aunque él si sabía que ella estaba en Londres"
"I didn't know it, though he did yes that she was in London"
“I didn’t know, although he did know that she was in London”

"Ya me puedo esperar cualquier cosa de él"
"I can already hope whatever from him."
In this context I think that “Ya” means “at this point”, so the sentence could be translated:
“At this point I can expect anything from him”

"De todas formas, ya buscaremos un sitio donde comer."
"At any rate, we will already look for a place where to eat."
“De todas formas”: is a phrase: “Anyway”
“Ya” doesn’t mean already in this context. It means “later” so the sentence would be:
“Anyway, we will look for a place to eat later”

Hey Riper, apenas me entero que eres de España, si es correcto?

a veces es necesario replantear la expresion para poder traducirla.
Toma el ejemplo de alguien que toca a la puerta de manera insistente, la expresion que usamos es "Ya voy!" en ingles se traduce como "I`m comming" o simplemente "comming!". no hay already. RECUERDA QUE ES YA VOY Y NO YA LLEGUE.

USA EL FUTURO

ahora intenta traducir estas opciones:

ya te digo = te lo dire

ya mismo acabo = estoy por terminar / ya casi termino / estoy terminando

Ya mismo le digo que deje de cantar = le dire que deje de cantar

puedo esperar cualquier cosa de el = se puede esperar cualquier cosa de el

ya buscaremos un sitio para comer = buscaremos un sitio para comer





Ya os habeis ido al bar =
Have you already left (your house) for the Bar ---cuidado con:
have you already gone to the bar = ya habeis ido a (conocer) el bar?

aunque él si sabía que ella estaba en Londres
though he already knew she was in London

ah! si, soy español y estoy por aquí por Londres a ver si de una vez por todas aprendo ingles...jeje.

Si Riper, que bueno que andas alla, es la mejor manera.
Estoy entendiendo que situacion tienes, pensaba que te encontrabas traduciendo alguna tarea, pero ahora es claro.

Me preguntaba de donde sacabas tantas ideas... pero bueno, se me ha ocurrido intentar participar con lo siguiente: (a partir de esto te hablo en ingles)

Riper, I live in Mexico, at the border with California, I work as an english teacher, last sunday I took my kids to Disneyland, it was great but crowded, very crowded.

The important part of this story has to do with the fact that the employees, clerks (cast members as they call themselves) were very busy at all time, I was impressed with their kind attitude under so much pressure.

So I did one of my experiments. I approached one of the vendors and asked "excuse me where's the bathroom?" and he didn't even look at me, he kept on handing out beverages and giving out change at a rate of one every 10 seconds and towards all directions.

This was done 3 or 4 times with several of them, the reaction was the same, not ignoring me but keeping busy until the situation was calm enough to give me directions, making an effort to be as clear and understandible as possible and with a smile on their faces.

The experiment continued with the following: approaching some of them with "excuse me, could you tell me where the nearest restroom is?" (even doing a perfect american accent) and the reaction was amazing, they all stopped what they were doing and gave me very short but clear instructions and then continued their endless motions with a smile on their faces.

Point 1 - Some people will not have the patience or the time to help you.

Point 2 - As your communication skills improve try to discover (not memorize) some of the grammar. But don`t stop fluency, making mistakes is a part of learning. Mistakes are ok.

Hi,

Yes, I understand what you try to say to me. In three ocasions, I have opened a conversation with people. Very short, but it give me more confident.

Now, I am focus on listening. Many times I can understand what I read, but when I am listening (radio, tv, people talking), is quite difficult to understand.
Then, on my computer I put a dialog script and the audio (bbc learning english, audio books, speak up magazine with CD), and I am listening the same sentence about 20 or more time until I understand the mean without translate into spanish.

I have tried to translate, but I lost :-(.

Translating is something different from all that involves learning a language, if your goal is to translate you are already doing it. And your effort is what makes things possible.

If your goal is to acquire a language (listening, speaking, use of language, reading and writing) you are already doing it!

Exposure to the language.
Using it in a meaningful way.
Motivation and well directed effort.
