    Default tethered to her

    Hello,
reading a book, i found a phrase whose meaning i could gess but i would not be able to translate. Can anybody help me?
    the phrase in its content:
"Ten years had passed since that memorable honeymoon; he had scaped to London and become a barrister, but had long since accepted that he was tethered to her for life."

in case you need more context the book i m reading is First among equals by Jeffrey Archer

    Default Re: tethered to her

literalmente 'atados juntos de por vida' pero no en una manera opresiva. Sus vidas están entremezclados. Si hubiera dicho 'bound together' de la idea de algo mas pegado. Tethering animals allowed some movement while restricting them to an area. The word is m=now used in electronic communications - 'being tethered to the Internet or cell phones being tethered to a network.
