    Default very bluntly

    Hi, guys,
here i have another question regarding the The Locked Room story.

"The explanation came in the second parragraph, very bluntly, without any preamble".

    my translation would be:
"La explicación apareció en el segundo párrafo, muy concreta, sin preambulo."

But I am not sure. Another word that came to my mind is concisa.

please let me know your oppinions and comments. Please also correct me if something is wrong.

    THnak you!!!!!!!!

    Another option could be

    ...,directamente,...

    Although "concisa" it's ok.

    Wait for more options

    Talking Re: very bluntly

    thanks!

I like "directamente". It suits perfectly in the context and the way in which the author writes.

    Thank you!

Anyway, any other comment will be welcome.

    THANKS!!

    muy francamrente/rotundamente/categóricamente

Dependiendo del país en donde estés en otras palabras "sin pelos en la lengua." No necesariamente grosera, pero "sin ambagues ni tapujos." ¿Entiendes?

    Vale

The dilemma is that "very bluntly" has two meanings:
    1. a secas, a boca de cañón, a boca de jarro, a bocajarro, con aspereza, contundentemente, de modo terminante, directamente, sin ambages, sin medias tintas, sin miramientos, sin pelos en la lengua, sin rodeos, sin tapujos; Sinónimos: point-blank, offhand, curtly, strongly, at point blank, conclusively, harshly, offhandedly, sharply;
    2. francamente, sin ambages ni rodeos; Sinónimos: clearly, frankly, openly, sincerely, baldly, candidly, foursquare, in all fairness, plain
    (http://www.wordmagicsoft.com/diccion...es/bluntly.php)
Everyone who answered you took it to mean clearly, frankly, etc. I understood the other other meaning the point-blank, etc. interpretation.
This is late anyway, but I hope it helps.
    What did you finally use?

Thank you all!!You were very helpful.

I just read your replies, but it's very useful to enlarge my vocabulary at any time, then, thank you.

I finally translated it as: "La explicación aparecía en el segundo párrafo, muy concisa, sin preámbulo."

It seemed important to me to keep the punctuation since it gives a special rythm to the sentence.

    Thanks again,
