Hi, I'd really appreciate it if someone could translate
my poem to spanish

. The poem is not very long and
I understand that there has to be some changes, so that
the poem makes sense.

Here it is:

If I settle for less, I'd have to give up;
All directions, seasons and days of the week
And smiles that overlay pains and heartaches
Jokes and laughs, that get rid of all loneliness
Let go of warmth, sunshine and summerbreeze
Leave the ocean, earth, moon and stars alone
Abandon all hidden dreams and hopes for life
I'd have to settle for someone else, not you

a las direcciones, estaciones y días de la semanas
y a las sonrisas que enmascaran los dolores y las penas

It's not a literal translation, of course. Poems are always a challenge!

Yo pondr�a en vez de direcciones, a todos los caminos,

otra cosa que se me ocurre es angustias en vez de dolores

Quizás también para el final:

Tendría que conformarme con otro, que no fueras tú.

Muy bonito, Sandra, conserva perfectamente el sabor poético.

Mis felicitaciones a Diego, a Exx y en especial a ti Sandrita. Tu traducci�n tiene mucha inspiraci�n. No es facil traducir poemas, pero tu le diste un toque muy art�sico

Sandra, I doubt anybody else would have done it better. Just some suggestions, perhaps to keep the poetical tone in Spanish.

Si hubiera de conformarme con menos, tendría que renunciar
a las direcciones, estaciones y días de la semana,
a las sonrisas que enmascaran los dolores y las penas,
a las bromas y las risas que alejan las soledades.
renunciar al calor, al sol y a la brisa
dejar atrás el mar, la tierra, la luna y las estrellas
abandonar todos los sueños escondidos y las esperanzas.
Tendría que conformarme con alguien más, no contigo.

As you said, poems are always a challenge, but this one you apparently tackled with no difficulty whatsoever, and the result was a very beautiful poem in Spanish. Great work indeed!
