    Default education vs. manners

Thanks! So, "recibir educación" clearly refers to schooling and not manners/upbringing?

Unfortunately mariaklec it refers to both, so it's depends on the context but even that it could be interpreted in either way
So if you want to avoid misunderstandings (in spanish happens quite often ) you need to be more specific like:

See "Educar as Instruir" and "Educar as Buenos modales". Even though mem286's suggestions are correct semantically and grammatically I got confused in:
Ser bien educado es muy importante. Una buena educación es importante.
In your statement sounds more as good manners, in mem286's statement could mean both.

    Well that's my opinion

    Kindest Regards

    I agree spec.

I might have left out the "bien"

Ser educado es muy importante: good manners are very important<--hence this is not what you are looking for

I think this would be clearer. We do not use empleador in Spain.

Really good point, thanks. I just tried to express what he wanted to say changing his version as little as possible.

    I also like Exx suggestion:

but in this case "educar" is not used.

Thanks, everyone. I will print these out and study them, as I do most days with something I learn from this site. This site is a gold mine.

We don't use it either in México, we use "El de Recursos Humanos" but you know what, from now on, I'm going to use "empleador" even if the people in Mexico look at me in a wear way. "Empleador" makes perfectly sense to me. I like it so much, Yeah!
