    Default Beloved - Toni Morrison

    Baby Suggs (grandmother) says,

"Bring a llittle lavender in, if you got any. Pink, if jou don't".

"Pink" could be "carnations" (claveles). Or is it another kind of flower which grows in Ohio?

    Thanks.

    - any of various flowers of plants of the genus Dianthus cultivated for their fragrant flowers
    - Dianthus is a genus of about 300 species of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae, native mainly to Europe and Asia.
    - Any of various flowers in the genus Dianthus, sometimes called carnations
    - Pinks are lovely, fragrant flowers. Many flowers names include the word ‘Pink’; it should be noted here that these aren't true Pinks. ...
