    Default hello/hola

I was hoping to find someone to talk to on the phone that could help me while I learn spanish. I have the rosetta stone and it seems to be working ok, but I have no one to try it on other than my 5 year old daughter... lol. I live in Maryland if that makes a difference. So if anyone would like to help me out and make a new friend, I'd appreciate it.

Hardly you find somebody willing to speak on the telephone in this forum. Now, if iyou have some doubts of how to express some idea in Spanish we are many of those that are willing to help you. By the way, what is the Rosseta stone (Besides that of Champolion)?

I agree with Fernando. I am afraid the phone is not a good idea . However, as fernando said, we can help you with any question you may have.
    At your service.

Go to livemocha.com It's a free site for learning languages at all levels AND it works like Facebook in terms of being able to get friends to practice the language you are learning.
Good luck! We're not unfriendly, just working!

I don't know exactly what you have in mind, but I might be willing to help. Perhaps we could start with chat. Get me up to speed where you are. I don't have the advantage of Rosetta. My spanish is extremely rusty. Just getting back into it after several years. Took three years in school.

My wife is about 6 months pregnant, and I would like my son to learn spanish. So, that is the reason I would like to get into it again. I have a few native hispanic friends that I plan on practicing with, but we don't get together that often. The same is true of me as has been said in another post ... very busy, always working. But, I don't want to use that as an excuse for not passing on the other almost official language of the area (Texas).

Right now, the only step I am really taking toward practicing is putting together a little Excel spreadsheet/ Flash Card program to help me boost my vocabulary. I would be more than willing to share once it is a little further along. I just started it this morning. But, I have done some amatuer programming in the past, so it is coming along fine.

By the way, practicing with your 5-year old is probably better than practicing with some other non-native. Young kids pick up things quickly. But, I understand that a little more grownup feedback is always in order.

So, if we can help each other, that would be dandy.
