Hi Laura, what kind of text did you translate? Can you show us a sample of source and translation?

Us translators are always kind of sceptic when hearing announcements about new and "well-working" translation software.

It would be nice, as andreap said, to see some of the results obtained from it!

Software does not make a translator . I use Trados myself and to tell you the truth i am faster writing the translation than pasting a placeable from workbench. There is no better sowftware than your brain .

It does indeed not make a translator, but it can sure help when you translate high volume texts for recurrent clients.

Furthermore, using the hotkeys that are available for ALL Trados functions, you can considerably increase your working speed (e.g. get current placeable: Ctrl+Alt+down)

I totally and absolutely agree with Sergi, although I don't understand why an increasing number of translation agencies request that a freelance translator should have Trados or other CAT tool, it is really a waste of time. I saw several samples of Trados translations and, honestly, they gave me a headache. I found it much easier to use your brain, why do people prefer a machine?

Well to be fair it really depends of the kind of translation. If you translate a novel ,a tourist guide ,or anything where recurrent sentences are few and far between ,then really my comment apply .
