    Default Distinctive trademark or symbol

A Logotype is a distintive trademark or symbol.

    ¿Está modificando a ambos sustantivos o sólo a trademark?

    Gracias........................

    Saludos,
    Guadalupe

Coincido Guadalupe, pero lo expresaría así:

A Logotype is a distintive trademark or symbol.

As your English quote indicated, a Logotype (or simply "logo" in its simpler form) is a distinctive trademark or symbol. It is most often the legal possession of a commercial organization (but I have seen logos in informal use which are not legally protected.) It is the inherent nature of a logo that it be a distinctive "shorthand" reference to just one organization.

Since the distinctive nature of the logo is understood, the adjective "distinctive" would probably not be used when referring to the logo in general. However, if one wished to emphasize its distinctive nature at some point in the conversation or writing, it would be perfectly acceptable (and clear) to refer to a "distinctive logo" or a "distinctive trademark," just not every time logo or trademark was used.

    Hope this helps.
