Hi everybody!!

I just wanna share with you a web I found about spanish slangs.
Depending on the country we must use carefully certain words
I suppose you all know!
I´m Spanish and I recognize it´s also hard to me to understand the meaning of certain phrases when I speak with my Argentine and Colombian friends.

I knew about the site you posted, and I find it really useful when I need to understand you, Spaniards!!! HAHAHA... yes, we all speak Spanish but we have lots of variations, and every time I get confused by some sentence, like there's this word or phrase that doesn't make sense to me, I remind myself, "maybe there's another meaning to that word???", so I check it there (or ask in the forum!) and find out there is!

Just out of curiosity, where did you get the info about the Barcelona U language professors being the creators of the website you recommend? I can't see it written anywhere in the website...

I know it because they were my professors years ago
In fact in the "diccionario de gestos" they are the actors (Toni and Emma).

Sorry, but you must be confusing www.jergasdehablahispana.org with some other website, because I know for a fact that no professors from Catalonia are involved in the project. And what is this about the "diccionario de gestos"? It's not part of "Jergas de habla hispana". Where do you find that?

Ecuador: Papelito lleno de apuntes que el estudiante esconde para usar durante el examen. En España a esto le llamamos "chuleta". En plena clase, Pocho sacó su polla y la teniía entre sus dedos para dársela a Silvia, quien la ciogió con muchas ansias. La profesora de repente volteó y en su desesperación Silvia solo atinó a meterse la polla de Pocho en la boca.


Perú: premio mayor de las apuestas hípicas, también pollón. Javier, un chico tranquilo y sencillo, fue un día al hipódromo, y al final de la última carrera, en el momento más inesperado..ZAS! se sacó la polla dejando boquiabiertos a todos los presentes..

I'm not believing this. I never knew of any slang meaning of polla except for the one in Spain. My teacher is Peruvian. I can't wait to show her.
