    Default please help!

hi!. I need to translate a text and I found the word 'sap'. I looked it up in the dictionary, and the definition is: 'Zapar, minar una muralla o fortificación', but I can't find the right equivalence in this context, so if you could help me, it would be great!

    this is the text:

Smoking also stains teeth, causes saggy, graying skin and saps your lung capacity.

    thanks!

    Hello!
For me it means, as you said, "minar", and the complete translation of the phrase would be "mina la capacidad pulmonar", which makes sense in spanish and in the context of the sentence. Hope it helps.

"Consume" or "destruye" would also work in this sense, though "minar" is an appropriate selection.
