Can someone please help me with this traduction posted below please, I need to send it to my spanish speaking friends in Mexico City. This help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanking you all in advance for this help!
I am writing to let you know that I came back from the hospital today. I will be brief on this matter for I am very weak and tired, but I will be back to write as I move along in the upcoming weeks. The surgery went along fine with the removal of the tumor in my right breast, which was very good news for me, because I got to keep my breast, even though it doesn't look so good anymore..!!
Unfortunatly, I cannot say the same thing for my right Axillary Lymph Nodes levels 2 and 3. The doctors saw cancerous cells in the lump that I had in my left axillary, but further test proved that the source was my right breast, so they did further tests and realized that my right axillary had cancerous cells too, so they had to remove 8 nodes under my right axillary because it was on the same side where my tumor was, so they had to see the extent of the cancerous cells and 5 of them contained the cancerous cells. They said that the cancer started spreading from my Mammary Lymph Nodes and fear that the cells have spread beyond. Due to the fact that cells where found on both sides.
For the moment the cancerous cells that they saw have been removed. As for the other cancerous cells if there is any, chemotherapy will have to take care of it, but if I notice any other glands that swell up, I have to return to the hospital.
They can not tell for sure at that time where else the cancer has spread, but spreading is obvious, because the cancerous cells left my right breast area to spread through my left axillary lymph nodes, which is not the same side where the tumor was found. They told me that chemotherapy is essential for me now to eliminate as much as possible of the cancerous cells since they do not know where else the cancerous cells may have spread and wait to see in the next coming weeks what will happen. The risk of reccuring cancer for me is very high due to the fact that the cancer I have is an Invasive Cancer.
What is important for now is that the source of the cancer has been removed, now I have to wait and see where else the cancerous cells have travelled, besides my lymph nodes. I will admit I don't like that answer, and neither did my doctors like giving me the news, but this is the situation.
I asked my doctor's what are my chances of survival in all this, but they could not answer me at that moment because they don't know where else the cells have travelled in my system! They said only time will tell for now, but that I will be closely monitored for any changes I may encounter in my body, such as other swollen nodes, lumps or pain.
At this moment I'm feeling tired, my under arm hurts, and my breast feels like its on fire, and god does these places itch. I will be resting for now and I need to put some weight back on the doctors said, because I will need strength to get through chemotherapy. Other then that I have allot of medical appointments left and right with doctor's starting April 24th.
Once I meet with the doctors, I will possibly arrange for my treatments to continue in Montreal, because it is very expensive here.
Anyways, this is my situation for now! Again I thank you all for your encouraging emails and cards. I would also like to thank those of you who flew in to be by my side at this difficult time in my life.
