Smile Translation English to Spanish

I need to translate this expression "the teacher needs to rough-tune his/her voice to students".
The context refers to how teachers should talk to students.
Thanks a lot!

To be as precise as I can:
"The teacher needs to rough-tune his/her voice to students" should be translated as "Es necesario que el/la profesor(a) endurezca el tono de su voz al dirigirse a sus estudiantes."

Any further perspectives on this issue are quite welcomed.

RAUL.
