Thread: Pit in F1

Hi there!
Any suggestion for the translation of the word "pit" that tends to appear quite a lot in GP races??? Thanks for the info!

It refers to the place in a side of the track where cars change tires and fill the tank. I think in Spanish we also say "pits"....

That's it! And you can say "los pits" a mix of English and Spanish!

Sí, porque ya quedó así el término, si se lo tradujera, nadie entendería...
se dice ´paradas en los pits´,´cuando entró a los pits...´

En la Argentina se dice (¿decía?) mucho más "ir a boxes", "parada en los boxes", etc. La expresión "boxes" es entendible, dando la idea de un cubículo reservado y aislado para cada corredor, donde podría haber un foso, de ser éste necesario [Aquí las fosas son más bien para los muertos]

La expresión "parada en los pits" se empezó a usar en los últimos años, al menos en lenguaje del periodismo escrito.
