Question Hey man,
la pregunta tal vez sea tonta, pero cual seria la forma mas "neutral" de traducir: "Hey man" para toda latinoamerica,

gracias de antemano por las sugerencias

aclaracion el contexto es un dialogo

hey man, what's up..

y el otro es hey man, listen to me

El problema es que "Hey Man" es algo tan coloquial que cambia de pais a pais... Algunas sugerencias:

"hombre" (esto es muuuuuyyyy neutro)
"ey viejo" (se usa en bastante paises en latinoamerica)

Hay algun target en particular para tu traduccion, o mas informacion sobre el contexto?

"Hey chico!" sounds Central American but could be the case for US Neutral Spanish.
Something I am pretty sure of is that, with more context, you could define the age segment and choose between "hombre" and "chico". Hope it helps!

La expresión "Hey man, what's up?" es bastante amplia... en Argentina solemos decir directamente "Hola, ¿cómo va todo?"... (no sé, eso es lo más neutro que se me ocurre)

Con respecto a "Hey man, listen to me" yo lo traduciría como "Oye, escuchame bien" o algo por el estilo.

En Argentina se usa "che", por ejemplo "Che, escuchame", pero es muuuy coloquial, demasiado!
Yo creo que esta expresión varía mucho de país en país. En centroamérica se usa "pana", "güey", se me ocurren miles, pero todas muy coloquiales.

Creo que una traducción bastante neutra es "¡Hola! ¿Qué tal?"

Mi opinion personal estamos traduciendo palabras o frases ya escritas, no estamos escribiendo la frase, el texto. tenemos que traducir de la forma mas exacta posible sin perder el mensaje.
