    Smile target as a verb

    Hi everybody!!! I am looking for a verb in Spanish for this verb....

    the phrase I am trying to translate is: You have to TARGET the right keywords.....

    Can anybody help me? thanks...

    Hay que senalar (the n is the enye letter which I can not do it here with ASCII) las palabras claves adecuadas.

    Agree with IUS as, even without more context, it looks like they want to stress the need of choosing/using relevant keywords.

    The verb you are looking for is "asestar." The DRAE confirms it (see below). Also, be careful. It is NOT "palabras claves" but rather "palabras clave," in the singular. It is like casas modelo, sofás cama, etc. These Spanish compounds follow the same rule as English ones. i.e., the first term is pluralized an the second is not; e.g., ladies-in-waiting.

    From the DRAE

    asestar1.(De sestar).1. tr. Dirigir un arma hacia el objeto que se quiere amenazar u ofender con ella. Asestar el cañón, la lanza.2. tr. Dirigir la vista, los anteojos, etc.3. tr. Descargar contra algo o alguien un proyectil, un golpe de un arma o de un objeto semejante. Asestar un tiro, una puñalada, una pedrada, un puñetazo.4. tr. Intentar causar daño.5. tr. desus. Preparar, tener pensado.6. intr. Poner la mira, dirigirse. asestar2.(De siesta).1. intr. Dicho del ganado: Sestear.

    Gustavo:

    Lo que propuse fue "asestar" que es lo que se hace para identificar un blanco. En la trad médica lo usamos todo el tiempo para hablar, por ejemplo, de asestar (to target) los haces de radiación a las células diana (las que se quieren destruir = traget cells).
