I heard one of our mexican guys at work say "Chansa que si"
I was thinking this meant "There is a chance"
But Chansa means joke I think.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello daniels012,
"Chanza que sí", "chance y sí", "chance...", etc. are expressions that we use in Mexico to mean maybe. (Or like you said, there is a chance.)
A joke is a broma or a chiste, not a "chanza" (at least as far as I know).
To play a joke = Jugar una broma
To tell a joke = Contar un chiste
Regards,
Xóchitl

Hey Daniel! Beware that Xóchitl used a z for your s (chanza). I seem to be listening to that nice musical tone that Mexicans use for their idioms! ;-)
