Hi there! I need some help to translate "release liners".
The context is: "Of the nearly 30 billion square meters of release liners and films coated globally each year, more than 80 percent utilize release coatings catalyzed by platinum"

Se trata de un papel protector o cobertor (generalmente papel de cera) que cubre la parte adherente de un papel contact; es decir, es la contra parte de un papel adhesivo; pero no sé si hay en español un nombre específico para este papel.

Yo me atrevería a traducirlo como "De los casi 30 mil millones (si el texto fue escrito en Inglaterra o Francia) o 30 billones (si fue escrito en Estados Unidos) de metros cuadrados de papeles protectores y películas desprendibles recubiertos cada año a nivel mundial, más de 80% utilizan revestimientos desprendibles catalizados por platino".

¿Crees que pueda servirte?
