    Default Can anyone translate please?

Hello to all, I'm hoping some of u can Help with this. My baby daughter is 7month old and I want to get my 1st and last tattoo of her name on my inner forearm. Her name is Amy and Our (family and friends) pet name for her is amy bear. I don't want to get this all done in english as I live in Glasgow/Scotland and in the wrong company it may cause me a bit of trouble due to footballing rivalry reasons (bear or teddy bear means a fan/supporter of rangers football club). You may or may not understand the significance of this, Anyway I've been digging around the internet and found a thing or two that id like to ask. I think I'd like the tattoo to say "mi Amy osito" but I'm not sure if that would be gramatically correct in Spanish. Or should I get "mi Amy oso" ? I think it means "my Amy bear" but I'd like to ask the experts. I don't want something so permanent on my skin to sound ridiculous to a spaniard or someone fluent In the language.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hey Marky,

    Thats so cute.
It could be osita (baby bear- femenine) or osa (momma bear - also fem), but you should invert it: mi osita Amy // mi osa Amy
    I would go with osita

    Good luck!

If I inverted it as u say (mi osito Amy) would that then translate back to English as "my little bear Amy"?

    Hi Marky!

As joselas said, "oso" means "bear", but you should use the feminine form "osa" or "osita" (baby female bear, I think it sounds cuter)

    Osa Amy = Amy Bear
Osita Amy = Little Amy Bear
Mi osa Amy = My bear Amy
Mi osita Amy = My little bear Amy

I think "osita" sounds much cuter, since implies it's a baby

    I hope this helps

    I would put a capital O.

In English we always put capitals for important words in titles and although the Spanish don't do that I think it looks good

    Mi Osita Amy

    I like Mi osita Amy.

Mi Osita Amy is OK too for artistic purposes. That also depends on how it looks with the kind of lettering that Marky chooses.

    I love Coca Cola Style.

I like Osita Amy the most. I didn't like how mi osita in lowercase looked.

I so love the idea of this tattoo for your baby daughter. She will love you for that when she is older.
Too late to talk my dad into getting one with Osita Cotty

I don't intend on having any more children so I want her 'inked' on me forever.
I'm swaying towards "osita Amy" myself now actually. I think "mi osita Amy" would maybe be a bit busy looking on my arm.?
