    Default "Parent-at-large"

    Hello

I am translating educational meeting minutes. There is a position called "Parent-at-large" and also member-at-large.

I don't know what the correct translation is. I was thinking padre o miembro disponible, but it sounds wrong to me.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Member-at-large is a position that that does not represent a specific sub group but rather the broad membership of the whole.. Extrapolating from that, I can imagine the Parent-at-large broadly represents all parents and not just a specific a subgroup, such as Kindergarten Parents. Hope that this helps.

I agree. Members-at-large refers to any member. Therefore, Parent-at-large is all parents or any parent.

Another use is Public at large which refers to the general public.
