Need help with a sign

Hello,...I have a need for a sign to place by our outdoor faucet while our painters are working on our home. They speak Spanish and very little English.

The sign needs to have the following information written:


Please shut the faucet off when finished. Do not over tighten the handle.

Left is on / Right is off

Thank You.


Babelfish translator seems inconsistent, so I thought I would turn to the experts and get a real life translation so that the message is accurate and doesn't look like a weak attempt at communication.

I agree with diegonel as regards the translation of the two first sentences; but when it says "Left is on / Right is off," I would write "Hacia la izquierda, se abre / Hacia la derecha, se cierra."
