Screenplay Translation - Short Film (10 lines of dialogue)
I'm working on the script for a 1.5 minute film entitled Le Tableau. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me a translation for my dialogue so that I may start working with my actors.
I would like to go with flowing and poetic speech where ever possible as the film is going to be noir-esque.
Thank you very much in advance.
Here is the dialogue:
Quote:
JEAN LUC
Good evening, my name is Jean Luc and tonight I must make a choice
JEAN LUC (CONT’D)
Before me are two glasses. One contains an elixir that will grant me life, the other; death.
THE MAN
Jean Luc. You must now be aware that to keep running will only lengthen your torture. They want their dues and we both know you cant pay in money.
THE MAN (CONT’D)
So you must pay in blood.
JEAN LUC
My daughter?
THE MAN
Alive. And she will stay that way if you play.
JEAN LUC
Play?
THE MAN
42 Rue Burboun, 9 o'clock tomorrow. You will know the rules when you arrive.
JEAN LUC
So I must make a choice.
JEAN LUC (CONT’D)
Is the glass half empty or half full?
Re: Screenplay Translation - Short Film (10 lines of dialogue)
JEAN LUC
Bonsoir, mon nom est Jean Luc et ce soir je dois faire un choix
JEAN LUC (CONT’D)
Devant moi il y a deux verres. L’un contient un elixir qui m’offrira la vie, l’autre la mort.
THE MAN
Jean Luc. Tu dois te rendre compte que continuer à courir va seulement prolonger ta torture. Ils veulent leur dû et nous savons tous les deux que tu n'es pas à même de leur payer en argent.
THE MAN (CONT’D)
Donc tu dois payer en sang.
JEAN LUC
Ma fille?
THE MAN
Vivante. Et elle restera comme ça si tu joues.
JEAN LUC
Jouer?
THE MAN
42 Rue Burboun, 9 heures demain. Tu connaîtras les règles quand tu arrives.
JEAN LUC
Donc je dois faire un choix.
JEAN LUC (CONT’D)
Le verre est-il à demi plein ou à demi vide ?
un saludo,
Frank.
