Salvadorm, you can have a meal without meat. For the people that don't eat meat, you wouldn't consider their meals, Meals because they don't include meat?

not really amayo, I was just confused by the similarity between these 2 words (for a non-english speaker "meal" and "meat" look alike) then I thought "meal mean meat" lol.

Waldorf salad is indeed named after the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. I'm not sure why. Perhaps because the chef worked at the hotel. The Waldorf Astoria is a very old established hotel in NY and I think the salad dates back to the 1930s or 1940s.

Hi kvillanueva, it's similar to a green salad but the main ingredients are celery, apples (red & without the skin), walnuts and mayonnaise (which can be substituted for yogurt). I believe grapes are also added.

    No potatoes in this one!

A Waldorf salad as I understand it is a mix of a regular salad and fruits salad mixed together and on top of that they throw on walnuts!! Crazy right?!? Leave it up to New Yorkers to think outside of the box.

Yeah, just as Amayo says, normal salad ingredients, like lettuce, some fruits, like apples, and walnuts, I can't imagine the taste, must be awesome.
