In UK, a limited liability company is called a private limited company by shares
In 2002, the UK legislated limited liability partnerships ("LLPs") into existence, which more closely proximate LLCs in the USA. Hope it helps, R. |

You want the abbreviation: 'Ltd'. It is used everywhere here (uk).

The correct term is just to say a Limited Company. A private company will be referred to as an Ltd. A public company will be referred to as a PLC (Public Limited Company).
