Default Pagelet

I'm looking for the translation of the word 'pagelet'.

The definition is the following:
Each block of content on the home page is called a pagelet. These pagelets display summary information within a small rectangular area on the page.

In context:
The News & Announcements pagelet features important notices.

My attempt to translate it is:
El resumen de noticias y anuncios en la página tiene avisos importantes.

I think the meaning is there, but I'd like to find a single word in Spanish for 'pagelet'.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you Ed. It sure seems like a strange translation. But then again, most web/software translations into Spanish seem awkward to me. Thanks again.

A long time ago I worked for some time in Madrid as a software engineer. Most people then tended to mix English and Spanish nomenclature; e.g. "Hazme un backup del disco duro."

I would not be surprised if "a pagelet" were colloquially referred to in the workplace as "una paginita"; but the serious term is "un elemento."

For an interesting discussion of how some view computeresse as corrupting the Spanish language read:

In particular read the third section:

3. Cohesión contra corrupción

Cheers.

Thanks again Ed! I LOVE it when people back up their suggestions with actual references. Again, many many thanks.
