    Default Led

How would translate Light-emitting diode (LED) to Spanish?

    LED or led

    Thank you

    Hi Kane,

LED = diodo emisor de luz.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks Sara.

    Another doubt.
The spelling of acronyms calls for capital letters, therefore; in this case, it should be LED. However, I have often seen it as “led”. What I do not know, and I was not able to confirm, is if the RAE now considers it a name like it does with “láser”, in such a case it would be spelled “led”

I am not sure what the RAE suggests in this case, but I believe it should stay capitalized and stick to the rule for acronyms. Good luck!

Que yo sepa no se traduce. De hecho en buceo hay muchas linternas de LED

Hey, girls! I usually translate it as "diodo emisor de luz (LED)" the first time in the text and then use just LED.

    Hope you find it useful!
