Default engineering terminology

Greetings,

I'm looking for the best term for "compliance," which is a term used in English for the ratio of unrecovered strain (deformación no recuperada) to applied stress (shear stress, or fuerza cortante in this case).

I have a "Diccionario para Ingenieros" that suggests the term "deformación" for compliance, but this is an old reference and the testing used to determine compliance is relatively new.

Thanks in advance-muchas gracias!

Gary

How about "flexibilidad" or "distensibilidad"?

Hope it helps!

Parece que la palabra "deslizamiento" sirve bien en este caso.

Gracias!

I suggest the word "elasticidad".
Let us know which word was the best option for your translation!
