Default How to say "to check a vital sign"

Hi! Could someone help me say this correctly in Spanish?

I am going to check the level of oxygen in your blood.
Voy a comprobar el nivel de oxígeno en su sangre?

Gracias! Quería usar la palabra chequear pero no pude encontrarla en mi diccionario. Por eso use la palabra comprobar. Pero chequear/revisar parece mejor. Gracias Sandra!

SER V. ESTAR
En cuanto a hablar de los signos vitales...he aprendido que debo decir que "Su presión arterial ES 120 sobre 80. Pero, me parece mejor decir "está 120/80," porque cambia.
También cuando hablas de temperatura dices "su temperatura es 98.6 grados" o dices "está a 98.6 grados."
Tal vez solo debo usar estar cuando quiero enfatizar que un cambio ha ocurrido. Por ejemplo. Su presión arterial está 160/90...está un poco alta.
Que opinan ustedes?

Hola DocMolly, te puedo sugerir también "examinar los signos vitales"; como segunda opcion

Tal vez esta recomendación sea mejor para textos académicos. Para algo mas informal, usaría "chequear".

Puedes tambien decir:

voy a controlar los signos vitales. Que es diferente a decir "voy a medir la concentracion de oxigeno en su sangre".

En verdad la concentracion de O2 no es un signo vital. Es la medicion de oxigeno en sangre, como puedes medir otros elementos.

Los signos vitales son: pulso, respiracion, reflejos pupilares, latidos cardiacos...
