    Default Antigenic drift

When talking about antigenic drift one of the processes of the HA is the following:

If the HA gene changes, so can the antigen that it encodes, causing it to change form.

    My translation is below.

However, I'd like to check if it's ok.

    Thanks a lot again!!!

Looks like the gene encondes the antigen and if the gene changes, so does the antigen.

The thing is that if the gene changes, the antigen does no necessarily change too.

Yes, you are right,Veronica. I missed "can" in the translation...

    o.k. Mariela:
IT´S ALMOST FINE BUT NOT NECESSARY THE HA GENE ENCODES THE ANTIGEN I BELIEVE IS BETTER TO UNDERSTAND AS IS WRITTEN WICH REFERS THAT " CAN " SO IT IS A POSIBILITY NOT A CAUSE EFFECT RELATIONSHIP,O.K.?

I think "estructura" could also work out fine. "Estructura antigénica" is quite a usual term in immunology. Cheers, Gentle

    Default Mutación

Btw..."antigenic drift" should be "mutación antigénica"
