Default En>Es> : struts

Context: mitral valve implant

A third animal was noted to have approximately ½ row of struts in the proximal anchor located in the right atrium.

How would you translate "struts" into Spanish?

Thank you Hebe for your prompt reply.
"puntales" was my first thought, but as I couldn't find any example of this word in the context I wasn't sure.
You may well be right.
All the best,
Fran
