English to Spanish Legal Translation Each Spanish market has its own legal system, and it can be rather complex to understand it. Other colleagues can help you compare source and target terminology and Spanish legal concepts.

Default Marriage Cert

Morning all,

I am doing a translation of a marriage certificate from SPANISH to ENGLISH. I've got a few doubts though about how to translate the following:
-Tomo No
-Municipio o delegacion
-Entidad Federativa
-Datos de los padres del contrayente
-...esta sujeto al regimen de sociedad conyugal o separacion de bienes

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot,

have a good day,

R.K

Hi Romeo Kelly, where is the document from?

-Tomo No = Volume Number
-Municipio o delegacion = Municipality/District
-Entidad Federativa = Federal Agency
-Datos de los padres del contrayente =Information about the Spouse's Parents
-...esta sujeto al regimen de sociedad conyugal o separacion de bienes = ...is subject to the Community Property Regime or Separate Property Regime

Hope it helps!

Hola!
Si el documento original es de México, considero que "Entidad Federativa" debe traducirse como "State"
El término se refiere a que la República Mexicana se divide en 31 Estados y un Distrito Federal, y la expresión "Entidad Federativa" los engloba a todos ellos.

Saludos
