    social.

    Este es mi intento:

Since mid 1960s the company reoriented (turned?) its operations to the real estate sector and focused its niche investment(s?) in social housing development projects.

    Gracias, H.

    Yo lo pondría así:

Since the mid-1960s, the company redirected its operations to the real state sector by focusing its investment niche on social housing development proyects.

    Saludos

With no intention to correct your translations, I just wanted to add that the phrase "investment niche" doesn't ring the bell to me.
I was surfing on the web and I found several entries for market niche whose Spanish equivalent would be nicho de mercado.

    Hope it helps!
