Hi,
Does anyone know an instant FINANCIAL translator? Either a web site or a software program... I need to translate instantly news from Reuter to send to customers in Latin America, and I have found myself translating most of the day lately Thanks... |

Well, for example; this is from today's Reuters in English:
"The world's largest gold-backed exchange traded fund (ETF) recorded its first decline since January 8. Its holdings dipped 0.3 tonnes to 1,028.99 tonnes as of March 8" Google Language Tools translates into this: "El oro más grande del mundo, respaldado por los fondos cotizados (ETF) registró su primer descenso desde enero de 8. Sus explotaciones de cruce 1.028,99 toneladas a 0,3 toneladas, como de 8 de marzo" I am looking for something more exact, so I don't have to double check translation gaffes... If anyone knows about any tool out there, I would appreciate the help!!! |

I highly doubt you will find something more exact. Machine translation is never exact, since languages are not word for word equivalent.
You could hire a translator to do it for you if accuracy is important, but if the translator is not in-house, there is always a delay, however small. I wish you luck in finding a solution to your problems! Regards, Henry A. |

Translating any text into a target language, regardless the semantic field it belongs to, involves much more than direct translation procedures as present day MT software has to offer.
Sorry. Utgi Garcia, PS: Back to the 70's, Siemens released a focused-field direct translation soft for weather reports, which were made up of sentences listed in a database, thus enabling the soft to accurately translate backwards and forward as needed. |
