Hola Exx, ¿cómo estás hoy amiga?. Tu interpretación (mas que traducción) es bien explícita , concisa y va directo al asunto (straightforward) ; brinda ina versión muy práctica de la idea que se quiere tarnsmitir. Los americanos y la gran mayoría del resto de los angloparlantes tienen normalmente ese estilo. Es por eso que el empleo de otro estilo tan inusual en el idioma inglés, me hizo pensar que la intención del autor era el uso de recursos literarios (imágenes, sonidos, símiles , metáforas) mas que la expresión de la idea de una manera directa y práctica. Es por ello que en mi traducción no expresé la idea directa "esperan obtener muchias ganancias", sino utilicé imágenes de sonidos (el de la tarjeta pasando por el lector) con la ventaja de que las lenguas romances son aún mas ricas en recursos literarios

Si exx, yo también comparto la idea de Hebe. Creo que debemos mantener un poco el sentido que el autor quizo darle a su noticia. Aunque tu traducción es muy buena y bien concisa, creo que sería mejor si usamos los mismos recursos que en el original. ¿Qué creen?
En lo personal, yo mantendría la palabra sonido o usaría alguna onomatopeya.

LA idea es genial Sandy. aunque no tengo la menor idea de como reproducir en letras el sonido de las tarjetas pasando por el lector. Debe ser porque trato de usar mi tarjeta solo lo indispensable

Jajaja, Hebe, aquí no se usan. Lo que tenemos es tarjetas de débito pero suenan igual, plástico al fin...chik chak...jajaja no tengo idea, es la verdad.
