¡Hola amigos foreros!
Alguien me podría ayudar con la traducción de la siguiente frase. (Pay out of pocket). El contexto o tema es de ámbito financiero y dice así:

Paying out-of-pocket is almost always less expensive than financing the purchase

Así es como yo la traduciría:

El pagar en efectivo por completo por lo regular es menos caro que financiar la compra

Cualquier comentario, sugerencias y/o críticas, serán bien recibidos.

Hola Robertoto!

Pues las finanzas no son mi especialidad en absoluto, pero como hablante nativa lo único que puedo decirte es que eso de "Pagar en efectivo por completo" suena bastante forzado... El "por completo" lo quitaría sin dudarlo. Lo que no sé es si se refiere a "pagar en efectivo" o a algo así como "pagar de su bolsillo"...

Siento no poder ser de más ayuda!

Pues por lo pronto me suena mucho más natural... Y, al fin y al cabo, si pagas de tu bolsillo es porque estás pagando en efectivo, así que supongo que esa forma de expresarlo engloba ambos significados de una manera fluída... ¡No suena raro en español, que es lo importante! (:

El cambio de "menos caro" a "menos costoso" me pareció muy adecuado. Sin embargo yo dejaría la opción "pagar en efectivo". (Pagar en efectivo es por lo general menos costoso (oneroso) que financiar la compra )
