Does that site have anything besides *** references? Do people actually use these phrases?

The dictionary is useful for looking up references of pop-culture or made-up phrases. I would think it helpful particularly for non-native speakers who have a hard time understanding very colloquial phrases that, on their own, have no meaning at all.
Here are some examples, all found in the Urban Dictionary: bromance Describes the complicated love and affection shared by two straight males. stacation The art of staying at home with paid time off from work and totally enjoying the time. twihard An serious/obsessive reader of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, one leap above Twilighters. The website will most likely have fairly accurate definitions for any slang words, but it's full of ridiculous jokes and phrases that no one with any self-respect will use...

True but it's still a useful reference, regardless of it not being the Oxford dictionary.
