Interesting post! I am sure that there must be an evolution as it is different the mental processing for someone with a basic level and someone who is fully bilingual. For starting learners there is usually a tendency to translate word by word. The advanced learner/fully bilingual starts by processing in the language he wants to use to express himself.

    BRAIN STUDY....

I've been told that this is a good example of a Brain Study and that if you can read this you have a strong mind. It seems elementary to me but I wonder how non-natives who are advanced/fluent in English would do.

    Give it a try!!!:

Hi Vicente! I am non-native but fluent and felt kind of bewildered when I first looked at those numbers mixed up with letters, but finally my eye got used to it and it reads perfectly well. Amazing what our minds can process! Cheers, Gentle

Hi Gentle! Thanks for letting me know how you did. I suspected that you and others who are fluent, especially those who write a lot, would do very well.

Amazing how at first I wanted to turn my back on it and run away. Then I caught up and ended up like baby talk. :-) However, when intimidated like in a psychology test, I do not know how I would react.

I have NO doubt, none, nada, ninguna, that you would react well under any and all circumstances.

    Great article, Julia!!!

I loved the brain study, Vicente! And I couldn't laugh more with your ideas, Gentle! I confess I wouldn't have been able to read it in a psychology test, i.e. under pressure.

Interesting post...By just reading the title I would say languages can never affect the way you think, but after going through your blog I have just changed my views. Great post.
