Default Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour

Hello! Yesterday I heard someone talk about this book and I thought it should make for an interesting read. Has anyone here read it?

Its a serious but supposedly humorous anthropological study that looks into the traits, behavior and quirks of the English people. By serious/humorous I mean well researched but not that scientific in tone. Well, a lot of it seems to have to do with communication, either in person or via other means... If the book's as good as some claim, I'm sure it provides a valuable insight into English culture. Anyhow, it looks pretty good, I think I might order it. What do you think?

I think for 2 pounds you canīt go wrong! Iīll look forward to hearing what you thought of it

From traveling I have to say that I get along with the British very well. They seem to be a fun group of people. At least that has been my experience with the ones that I have run into in hostels.

Fun indeed. When I visited London some 7 years ago I was a bit shocked that my hosts had removed the family table from the dining room and just had their meals in their couches, in front of the TV. I wasn't able to determine if this was common practice or not, though!

In the US itīs quiet normal to eat your meals in front of the TV. They even have tables designed specifically for eating dinner on your couch!!

I agree that the book looks interesting and as Amayo says, you can't go wrong with a price of two quid (pounds) from Amazon.
