A great deal of Chomsky's theory is based on Platonism and Kantianism. In the first case, the idea that knowledge is inside of us before we remember it. In the second case, the idea that human beings have a certain way of seeing the world and, no matter what we do, those are the categories with which we think.
The interesting aspect of the theory is that nobody has been able to deny it yet.
