*Note that the word in Spanish "navanzados" seems to be a typo and should be "avanzados", which means advanced. That makes sense in the context here

La cifra podría haberse incrementado en los últimos años por la desparación del cartel de Cali y las recientes detenciones de operadores de los carteles en el sur del estado de Florida.
