Any ideas on how to translate this sentence from an article in a Spanish Newspaper? My rather clumsy effort would be:

"As i am on occasions so pig-headed, i only think and pay attention to the here and now - i rekon i share that brutishness with most men, well thats my defence anyway"..

Cualquier sugerencias pa mejorarlo?
